Your camera is designed to capture every moment, from those special occasions to the every day memories that make life what it is.
We hope that nothing ever goes wrong with your kit, but if the worst should happen then we’re right there beside you with a repair service to get your kit working again as quickly as possible – because we know no-one wants to miss out.
You can book your item in for repair at any one of our stores and we can accept items for a repair that both in and out of warranty.
What we can repair
We can send the majority of cameras and lenses for repair, and we use authorised repair agents using genuine parts.
Unfortunately, we can’t offer repairs on telescopes, tripods or go pros.
What if it’s still in warranty?
If you bought it from Jessops, then bring a copy of your receipt with your camera or lens and we’ll sort the rest for you. Most manufacturers guarantees are for 1 year and cover mechanical faults or issues with the equipment.
Please note that while we may send the item off under warranty, it is the decision of the manufacturers repair agents whether this will be covered under warranty.
Certain manufacturers offer several years warranty – if you have one of these then normally you have to register for it and any repairs need to be carried out by them directly. Contact the manufacturers website for further details.
What if it’s out of warranty?
That’s absolutely fine! We can have your item sent off and you’ll receive an estimate on how much it’ll cost to repair. There is a £25 service charge which needs to be paid in advance, but that will be deducted from the final bill if you choose to go ahead with it.
What should I bring with me?
If the problem is with the camera – just bring the camera and the body cap. If it’s a lens problem – just bring the lens. If you have a compact or fixed lens camera, then just the lens and both front and rear caps will do. Body & lens caps are required to transport your camera safely and securely to the repairer, we won’t advise sending a lens attached to camera for safety reasons.
There’s no need to include any accessories, cases or boxes with your repair – the repair agents will have all the necessary testing equipment.
How much will it cost?
As each repair will be completely different, we can’t give any estimation before the camera has been inspected by a repairer. However, your estimate will provide the information required on your repair.
If you have multiple items for repair, they’ll all need to be sent off as individual repairs since different items may need to go to different repairers.
How quickly will I have my kit back?
We know how important your kit is to you and we’ll do everything we can to have it back to you as quickly as possible.
We aim to have an estimate with you within 7 days, and from the point of your acceptance of the estimate then we aim to have 75% of all our repairs are completed within 5 working days. (subject to parts availability)
Occasionally delays will occur and further investigation will be needed, but we’ll let you know if that happens.
